Physical Therapy in Vietnam

I had the opportunity to meet Virginia Lockett, an American expat physical therapist who set up a charity organization and moved to Vietnam around 2006. You can read more about Virginia and her NGO, Steady Footsteps here. The state of physical therapy in Vietnam is fairly weak; mostly comprised of cookie cutter treatments and top-down restrictions on their very crude practice of physical therapy. Her work is getting more exposure in the country, including a few TV segments; see here, here, and here.

Get in touch with her if you have any interest in volunteering your physical therapy skills in Vietnam. Contact information is at the bottom of this page.

I highly recommend you look into her blogs: Steady Footsteps (Physical Therapy related) and A View from Vietnam (essays and photos of life in Vietnam).
